About Tadoba National Park
Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, located in Maharashtra, India, is one of the country’s most famous and oldest national parks. It was established in 1955 and later declared a Tiger Reserve in 1995. The park gets its name from the local God Taru (Tadoba) and the river Andhari flowing through it.
It is often called the “Jewel of Vidarbha”, spread across the Chandrapur district. Tadoba is renowned for its dense teak forests, bamboo thickets, scenic lakes, and an incredible population of tigers, making it one of the best places in India for tiger sightings.

The park is home to a wide variety of animals, birds, and reptiles, including:
Royal Bengal Tigers (main attraction, with one of the highest tiger densities)
Leopards, Sloth Bears, Indian Wild Dogs (Dholes)
Wild Boars, Indian Bison (Gaur), Spotted Deer, Sambar Deer, Barking Deer, Nilgai

Moharli Zone – Most popular, famous for tiger and leopard sightings.

Kolsa Zone – Dense forest area, ideal for nature lovers.
Buffer Zones (Agarzari, Devada, Junona, etc.) – Known for frequent wildlife activity and less crowded safaris.
Best Time to Visit
October to June → Best time for safari & tiger sightings (peak summer months like March–May give higher chances to spot tigers as they visit water bodies).
July to September → Monsoon, park remains closed for tourists (except buffer zones).
